19th Century French Country Carved Oak Radassier or Hall Bench with Rush Seat
A 19th century French Country radassier or hall bench handcrafted of solid oak with a rush seat in Bayeux, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in Normandy, circa 1890s. This handsome antique bench seats three and features carved vertical slats the entire length with a center medallion adorned with four carved fleur de lys motifs. The gently curved arms ending in volutes flank the sides while the rectangular rush seat rests on a carved apron with a central stylized fleur de lys. Raised on four tapering square legs. A simple yet refined look that captures the quaintness and charm of provincial France. Boasting a beautiful aged patina, this French radassier works in both traditional and modern interiors. Perfect for an entryway, hall, mud room, kitchen, or the foot of a bed.
