Nothing beats a carefree summer getaway, especially one that's filled with family, fun, romance, and every kind of shelly creature you can imagine! Lolo and I began our adventure in Provence and ended it in Brittany. It wasn't about the destination. It was all about the journey.
We put in hours and hours of work, shopping antique fairs and marche aux puces for days. But, we also wandered lavender fields in Avignon, strolled the promenade in Carnon-Plage, sipped cocktails by the pool in Orange, and admired the masters in Nantes. Lolo and I experienced the "real" France.
We wined and dined in sun-soaked towns and mist-shrouded villages. We wandered down gravel paths, uncovering hidden antique shops along the way. We climbed step after step to see castle ruins and magnificent abbeys. We took the backroads and stumbled upon medieval villages and hilltop fortresses, rocky cliffs, and stunning beaches. Our evenings were filled with lively dinners and late night fun. We slept with the windows open. We were captivated by the blue seas, verdant vineyards, white limestone cliffs, and pastel colored homes.
