Title

A handsome 19th-century French Louis XIII style barley twist console table, circa 1870s, meticulously handcrafted from walnut in the esteemed port city of Bordeaux, renowned for its illustrious wine growing heritage. Reflecting the opulence of King Louis XIII's era, this table boasts a prominent twisted column, or torsade, a hallmark of furniture design during his reign. The table showcases exquisite craftsmanship, featuring a beautifully grained molded edge top above a single drawer adorned with its original iron pull. Raised on six intricately hand-turned torsades that spiral into bobbin legs connected through rectangular block joints to scalloped stretchers, embellished with a central hand-turned toupie finial. All resting upon four bun feet. Exhibiting a deep color and lustrous patina, this antique French table is finished on all sides, offering versatile placement in any space, whether in a foyer, living room, or library. Its refined presence lends an air of sophistication to any decor, serving as a testament to the timeless elegance of French style and the exceptional skill of its craftsmen. This piece stands as a true exemplar of fine artistry and timeless allure.
