Title

A rare and charming 19th century French majolica asparagus cradle and platter, handcrafted by the renowned faïencerie Keller & Guérin in Lunéville, circa 1890s. Designed to accompany asparagus plates of the same pattern, this beautifully molded server is shaped to cradle and present freshly cooked asparagus spears with elegance and flair. The sculptural design features raised white and pale green asparagus stalks accented with delicate purple tips. The colorful platter on which the cradle is resting showcases a rich turquoise glaze that highlights the texture and vibrancy of the raised asparagus spears and artichokes. The shaped rim adds visual interest, while the gently sloping form is both functional and decorative—perfect for serving or display. A delightful centerpiece for spring tablescapes or a special addition to any majolica collection, this cradle and platter pair beautifully with the matching asparagus plates and embody the French love of both food and fine ceramic design. *Set of 6 asparagus plates sold separately.

Part of the highly collectible majolica tradition, this cradle and platter set reflects the artistry and innovation of the K&G Lunéville workshop, which dates back to the 18th century and became especially known in the 19th century for its whimsical, colorful faience and tableware.
