The florals have the delicate character of antique botanical illustrations — finely rendered stems, leaves, blossoms, and roots painted with a light, naturalistic hand rather than in a formal bouquet. The collection appears to include familiar garden and wildflower favorites such as forget-me-nots, thistle, dandelion, lavender, iris, strawberries, and flowering bulbs, along with additional leafy and flowering specimens. The twelve paintings are arranged in three rows of four, divided by slender, weathered gray-green moldings that give the piece the appearance of an old French or Italian window filled with botanical specimens. Surrounding the composition is a substantial painted and distressed architectural frame, finished in layers of aged ivory, pale gray, and warm exposed wood tones. Carved and molded borders, including delicate beaded detailing, add classical character, while intentionally rubbed edges and areas of worn paint create the softly aged patina of an antique frame.
