Title

A 19th century Spanish terracotta tinaja jar or wine pot with circular striations handmade of red clay in the Aragon region in northeast Spain, circa 1870s. Originally used to store wine, tinajajars typically have a narrow mouth and foot, no handles, and a wide belly to host the wine, with a tap at the bottom. This tinaja jar, with its irregular form, would be great for a home wine cellar or use it in the garden, by the pool, or indoors as decorative planter or large floor vase. A wonderful addition to any pottery collection.
