A striking pair of French gilded iron faux bamboo benches newly constructed by skilled French artisans in the style of Maison Baguès. With their airy silhouettes, intricate metalwork, and warm gilded finish, the benches combine classic French faux bamboo design with the glamorous decorative spirit later associated with Hollywood Regency interiors.
Each bench is constructed entirely of iron worked to resemble slender lengths of bamboo, complete with individually articulated nodes and naturalistic variations that give the frames remarkable character. Rounded finials punctuate the corners and rails, while open geometric panels and graceful curved elements lend the backs and arms an elegant, almost architectural quality. The craftsmanship is particularly evident in the numerous joined sections, where the iron has been shaped and assembled to create the illusion of delicate bamboo despite the strength of the underlying material.
Below the seats, an elaborate arrangement of faux bamboo stretchers creates a lively geometric composition.
